Albury/Wodonga

Albury and Wodonga are twin towns separated by the Murray River , which acts as the Victoria-NSW border. Albury is NSW and Wodonga belongs to Victoria . They recently amalgamated as a single town. In both parts are several decent restaurants, some lively bars and a few interesting places. The Albury side is probably the most attractive part because it's a good base for trips to the snowfields and high country of both Victoria and NSW, the vineyards around Rutherglen and to the upper Murray River . The “Botanic Gardens” at the end of Dean St. are also worth-seeing. You can get a night in a dorm for A$ 17 in the “Albury Backpackers”.
