Entertainer on Australian TV

One Magic Logie

It's the big one, voted for by the fans for the most popular entertainer on Australian  television today.

First off, let me start by saying that it's not easy being an actor, you definitely don't  go into it for the money or financial security. The only reason you would ever even consider doing it is if,

A: You need it as an outlet to express yourself,
B: You love being the centre of attention, or
C: You're completely insane!

At the moment, anyone even finding steady work as an actor would be incredibly lucky, especially in Australia - drama shows seem to have diminished since the outbreak of reality television - and there are very few REALLY GOOD drama shows being made here, just
a lot of soapy nonsense like Home and Away. Oh by the way, congratulations to Home and Away for winning most of the awards this year, you deserve them. KEEP IT UP!

So anyway, can you imagine how Mr John Wood, the latest Gold Logie winner, must feel right now. He's being recognised for his work, he's probably got a much better chance of
finding more work.. and people LOVE him!

Now that is one Magic Logie. Congratulations John Wood.

And what a night it was. Back when it started in 1956, the Logies would have been nothing like it is today - less glitz, less glamour, less excitement..

Fifty years later, and well.. I don't know, I didn't watch it..
