Byron Bay
Byron Bay is one of Australia's favorite International tourist
destinations. Travellers from all...
Warrnambool |
Warrnambool is nearby the western end of the Great Ocean Road and famous for its whales. From June until September this village offers one of the best opportunities on our planet to explore whales. There are also more than 160 shipwrecks in this area. Flagstaff Hill honours their memory. Other activities in Warrnambool include swimming, surfing, windsurfing, fishing, yachting and scuba diving. The main swimming beach is sheltered "Lady Bay". "Logans Beach" has the best surf and there are good breaks at "Levy's Beach" and "Second Bay". The "Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village" is modelled on an early port and has two restored ships. There are also excellent picnic facilities and "Cannon Hill" has panoramic views over Lady Bay. A 22 kilometres coastal walk to Port Fairy is the "Mahogany Walking Trail" starting at the Thunder Point Coastal Reserve on the western edge of town. The "Warrnambool Beach Backpackers" offer a night in a dorm for A$ 20.
