Before Arrival in Australia Checklist

• Apply for a visa.
• Open your Australian Traveller Account
• Organise immunisation
  (recommended if you intend to stop over in Asia)
• Organise your Australian mailing address. Being able to receive all your important mail while travelling around Australia is possible, thanks to our mail forwarding service. You can sign-up for the service online and provide your family, friends, bank, tax office or any other organisation with your Australian address before even leaving your home country and make sure that your mail will not be lost.
• Check your health cover - If you are from one of the countries which has a Reciprocal Health Care Agreement with Australia, contact your national health care organisation for a proof that you are enrolled on their scheme in order to be able to apply for an Australian Medicare card.
• Apply for an international driving license
  - only necessary if your driving license is not written in English
• Photocopy your passport, visa and flight ticket - leave a copy at home in case you lose these documents while travelling.
